Your advertising choices

Advertising preferences are available when JavaScript is enabled.

You can read the whole notebook without ads. The read-without-ads preference is stored only in this browser, when browser storage is available. Allowing ads does not override choices you make in Google's consent message. Clearing site data resets this preference.

Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to support this notebook. Eligible article pages have clearly labelled advertising spaces, separated from the writing and navigation. Ads depend on Google’s approval, inventory and your privacy choices; an empty space is not a recommendation or endorsement.

Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, local storage and other identifiers to deliver, measure and personalise ads, prevent fraud and limit repeated ads. Requests can include your IP address, device and browser information, the page address and referring page. Google may process this information outside your country. Google’s consent message is configured for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland. It offers consent, do-not-consent and manage-options choices. Where the message applies, use Google privacy choices in the footer to revisit your decision and the listed advertising partners and purposes. Non-personalised or limited ads may still be possible under Google’s settings. To stop this blog requesting ads in this browser, choose Read without ads above. This does not erase information already processed by Google or its partners; browser controls can remove existing cookies.

The light/dark reading preference is saved in your browser’s local storage. Archive and global search run against this site’s article index; there is no search account or search form submitted to a separate service. Search terms can appear in the page URL when you use archive filters. Do not put private information into a public search URL you share.

GitHub Pages hosts the site and receives ordinary request information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service. See the GitHub Privacy Statement. Google Fonts receives requests when your browser downloads the typefaces. Some historical posts contain third-party demos or embedded media, which can contact their providers when loaded. External websites and services have their own privacy practices.

Emailing us shares the message and contact details you choose to send; these are used to respond. We do not ask you to create a reader account. For questions, corrections or requests relating to information you have sent, contact info@maddyzone.com. Browser-only preferences must be removed on your own device. We will update this page when these practices change.
